Description: This webinar will provide instruction and discussion regarding why it is important that behavior analysts consider culture in behavior analysis. Dr. Garcia will provide examples of how culture has influenced differences in behavior among different populations. Finally, Dr. Garcia will discuss cultural reciprocity and provide a rationale for why behavior analysts should engage in cultural reciprocity in behavior analytic services.

About the Speaker: Anna R. Garcia, Ph.D., BCBA
Dr. Anna Garcia is a Researcher at the Rightpath Research & Innovation Center at University of South Florida's Department of Child and Family Studies. She has been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2011. Anna earned her master’s and doctorate degrees in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of South Florida (USF). Her research has focused on training parents to implement behavior reduction and acquisition procedures and assessing the influence of cultural characteristics in behavior analytic assessment and treatment. Her research interests are in adapting behavior interventions to the families of diverse background and creating culture competence training for behavior analysts.
